Swimming Pool Protocols - Covid
Thursday evenings from 20.00 to 21.00 at Clapham Leisure Centre (CLC), coached by Tim George
The sessions will be aimed at two levels (alternating each week)
Level 1 – Intermediate – aimed at those currently able to swim 400m continuous in under 8 minutes
Level 2 – Advanced – aimed at those currently able to swim 1000m continuous in under 16 mins 30 secs
As we only have 2 lanes / 12 slots available per CLC session, please do not attend these sessions on consecutive weeks, in order to give as many swimmers as possible the chance to attend on a fortnightly basis.
Wednesday evenings from 20:00 to 21:00 at Ernest Bevin school (EB), coached by Andrew Potter
This session caters for all abilities and you may attend every week.
SIGN UP AND WAITING LISTS:
Pre-registration is required for both sessions. The sign up for both sessions will go live on Monday evenings at 8pm and will close at midday on the day of the event. In order to sign up you need to be logged in to the Clapham Chasers website and head to the “Events” – “Swim Sessions” section: https://www.claphamchasers.co.uk/swimsessions
If the session you’d like to attend is already full then you can join the waiting lists in the ‘Chaser Swim Sessions’ section of the Facebook group (https://fb.me/e/cXVBfcCD4). These will be posted each week shortly after the sign-up goes live on Monday evenings. If you can no longer attend a session please post the availability of the slot in the relevant waitlist by tagging the next person on the list.
To reiterate our desire to get as many people swimming as possible, please only sign up to 1 session per week. In the unlikely event that there are still slots available at 8pm the night before a session you may sign up to a second. The same principle also applies to attending on consecutive Thursdays.
COVID AND RISK MANAGEMENT:
We have prepared the following Swimming Risk Assessment and we ask all swimmers to aknowledge it before registering and attending sessions.
When attending please arrive ‘swim ready’ to help the sessions start promptly given minimal changing space.
It really should go without saying, but if you are feeling unwell, have been asked to self isolate, or have returned to the UK in the last 14 days from a country not on the Govt exempt list please do not attend the sessions.
