England Athletics Affiliation

Introduction

The club offers two levels of membership depending on whether or not you choose to affiliate with England Athletics (EA) who are the governing body for athletics in England

You can access the EA website at: http://www.englandathletics.org

What benefits do I receive if I affiliate with EA?

The primary benefit is being able to represent your club at a wide range of events where we compete as a team, but there are also material benefits including:

  • Reduced entry fees for UKA licensed road and multi-terrain events (minimum £2 per event).
  • Free entry to Surrey League Cross Country races
  • Discounted products at a range of companies
  • Personal profile page on Power of 10 (national results and rankings database).

For a comprehensive and up-to-date list of all benefits associated with EA affiliation, please see: http://www.englandathletics.org/england-athletics/more-information-for-athletes

What can't I do if I chose not to affiliate with EA?

Below are the team events we compete in throughout the year.  If you're not affiliated you can of course join in (and/or cheer) but your efforts won't be counted towards the team which is always a terrible loss:

    • Surrey Cross Country Fixtures (League and County)
    • South of England Athletic Association (SEAA) Cross Country Relays
    • South of England Athletic Association (SEAA) London Cross Country Championships
    • South of England Athletic Association (SEAA) Main Cross Country Championships
    • English Cross Country Association (ECCA) National Championships
    • South of England Athletic Association (SEAA) 6 and 12 Stage Road Relays
    • South of England Athletic Association (SEAA) 4 and 6 Stage Road Relays

Where can I find my EA number?

If you've registered and lost your number try this link: https://www.englandathletics.org/myprofile

If you're new to EA affiliation then we manage the registration process on your behalf which is as follows:

    1. You join the club as an EA affiliated member
    2. The club will register you with EA by sending selected registration information to EA including your name, date of birth, address and contact details.
    3. EA will allocate you a Unique Registration Number (URN) – commonly referred to as your ‘EA number’
    4. EA will contact you directly with all your details

Further details on this process can be found at: http://www.englandathletics.org/page.aspx?sitesectionid=725&sectionTitle=Registration

Please note that for administrative reasons, the club tends to submit details to EA on a monthly cycle.  In the event that you require your EA number more urgently, please contact our Membership Secretary.
